Spring is here!
The weather’s warming.
I can’t wait to go outside!
On the hills
the daffies blooming
in a gorgeous gold landslide.
Ouch! Slap! Nature’s spite.
The season’s first mosquito bite.
Spring is here!
The trees are budding.
How I love that shade of green!
Splitter, splat!
The rain is falling.
I’m a puddle-stomping queen!
Squish, yuck, oh humbug!
I stepped on a slimy slug.
Spring is here!
The pollen’s blowing
from the flowers and the trees.
Busy buzz,
Bees are collecting.
But it also makes me sneeze.
Ah-choo! Sniffle, snort.
Allergies cut short my sport.
Spring is here!
The ants are crawling
when I picnic on the grass.
Poison ivy,
Nettles stinging,
all these things give me a rash.
I do like Spring, but when I’m pressed,
I think I find that Winter’s best!
